Lewis Middleton1
M, b. 1796
Note* | | Lewis Middleton Lewis Middleton wasn't the son of Hugh Tear(es) Middleton. A male descendant of Lewis Middleton and Polly Call through two of their sons, Martin Van B. Middleton and James M. Middleton participated in a Middleton DNA, and he learned that his Middletons are of Scottish heritage and linked to the North Carolina Middletons of the mid-1700's (and possibly to the Virginia Middletons in the 1600's). Thus, the descendents of Lewis Middleton aren't related to the early Middletons in South Carolina or Maryland and so aren't descended from Hugh T. Middleton. Lewis Middleton's father was probably named Hugh, based on naming conventions in the early 1800's (oldest son was Cyrus Hugh, honoring Cyrus Call and, presumably, Hugh Middleton), but that's just an educated guess.2 |
