Hunter, Secretary of the County Board of Health, is trying to make arrangements to have the Cassius PINKSTON house on Maul Ridge, in which there are now ten case of smallpox, destroyed by fire when the patients recover. In order to do so it will be necessary to pay Mr. PINKSTON for the structure, which is worth about $200. It is an open box house, with only one room plastered, and to disinfect it will be almost hopeless job. If allowed to stand it will be almost certain to breed new cases of the disease.12 |
