Biography* | | Thomas and James set out from Red River County to establish a new settlement. Apparently, they were alone. According to a petition on behalf of James and Thomas' heirs, they were attacked by about 40 Indians on the Brazos River in January, 1836. Thomas was killed and James was severly wounded. Thomas left four minor children.1 |
